She was predeceased by: her parents, Burke Painter and Annie Frizzell Painter; her husband Denver H. Monteith; her grandson Jordan Monteith; and her siblings, Ruth Snyder, Mary Painter, Conrad, Walter and Johnnie Painter.

She is survived by: her daughter Lisa Monteith of Sylva; her grandson Jackson Monteith; and her brother Harrison (Ina) of Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
