He was predeceased by: his parents, Thad Buchanan and Letha McMahan Buchanan; and his siblings, Glenn, Early Buchanan and Ila Buchanan.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Allie Sutton Buchanan; his children, Dan Franklin Buchanan, Jr. and Amy Buchanan; his grandchildren, Allison Blanton (Jesse), Luke Burgess, Ashton Grasty (Eli), Elsie Buchanan and Blair Buchanan; his great grandchild Kipton Grasty; his son Stetson Blanton; and his siblings, Roger Buchanan, Verna Bryson, Ruth Warren (Ronnie) and Howard Buchanan (Sue). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Old Savannah Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, OSBC Youth Fund, or Four Seasons Hospice in Hendersonville, NC.
