She was predeceased by: her parents, Bonnie Buchanan and Raymond Buchanan; and her sister Shelby Jean Buchanan. She is survived by: her daughter Diane Smith Melton; her sisters, Leva Mae King and Margie Smith (Ed); and her grandchildren, Jason Wingate, Angela Littlejohn, Jamie Melton and Misty Moore. She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Appalachian Funeral Services (165 Skyland Dr, Sylva, NC 28779). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
