William Olai left this world on January 27, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Olai Andrias and Mary Privett Underseth; his wife Janice Marie Mason Underseth; his sister-in-law Margaret Slate; and his niece Barbara Wright.

He is survived by: his son Andy Underseth (Janet) of Swansboro, NC; his grandchildren, Cameron Morton Underseth and Allison Grace Underseth; and his nephew Warren Slate.

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jones Funeral Home of Swansboro Thursday (407 Old Hammock Rd, Swansboro, NC 28584). A graveside service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Ward Cemetery (212 Walnut St, Swansboro, NC 28584).

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Swansboro United Methodist Church, Music Department, 665 West Corbett Ave., Swansboro, NC 28584 or to Trinity United Methodist Church, Music Department 2311 Elizabeth Ave., New Bern, NC 28562.
