He was predeceased by: his parents, John Nance and Sallie Emerson Nance; and his siblings, Bill Nance and Norma Jean Moore. He is survived by: his wife Mary Romer Cross Nance; his children, Joan Cross of Swansboro, Jane Watkins (Cecil Jordan) of Swansboro and Charles Cross (Virginia) of Swansboro; his grandchildren, Jacob Morton, Lauren Cross, Nicole Casteen, Charles Watkins, III and Alex York; and his brother Thomas Nance (Bonnie) of Virginia. He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Moose Lodge of Swansboro (161 Norris Rd, Swansboro, NC 28584).
