He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Celia Mae Justice and Cecil Prater; his wife Virginia Prater; his siblings, Larry Prater and Carolyn Effler; his daughters, Tammy Seay of Swannanoa and Pamela Baker (Robert) of Fresno, California; his brothers, Terry Prater of Burnsville, Darryl Dillingham (Mary Frances) of Alexander and Claude Dillingham of Weaverville; his grandchildren, Christopher Johnson of Spruce Pine and Amanda Walker of Candler; and his great grandchildren, Christopher Walker of Swannonoa and Hayden Johnson of Curoso. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
