He was predeceased by: his parents, Jimmy Cordell and Mildred Gardner; and his brother Barry Cordell. He is survived by: his wife Noma Cordell; and his brothers, Tim Cordell (Crystal), Kent Cordell and David Cordell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
