He was predeceased by: his parent Whitt Gibson; and his sister Alice Hornowski. He is survived by: his parent Vivian Gibson of Swannanoa, NC.; his wife Julia Carlock Gibson; his daughters, Anne Linhart (Stephen Linhart) and Vicki Hughes (Tripp Hughes); and his grandchildren, Joshua Linhart (Sarah Grace), Jared Linhart, Sarah Allie Linhart, Lettie Hughes, Mazie Hughes and Robert Hughes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
