He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Haney and Clara Haney; and his sons, Eric Parris, Neal Parris and David Parris.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Parris; his daughters, Kim Parris Garcia of Norcross, GA, Donna Martineau of Daytona Beach, FL and Wanda Green of Daytona Beach, FL; his brother Lewis Haney of Winder, GA; his grandchildren, Gary Parris III (Kasey), Shona Parris, Noah Parris and Ethan Parris; and his great grandchildren, Brantlee Parris and Maylee Parris. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Sky View Memorial Park (1610 Tunnel Rd, Asheville, NC 28805).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any organization that assists veterans.
