He was predeceased by: his sisters, Brenda Lusk and Barbara Smith. He is survived by: his spouse Linda Banks; his sisters, Deborah McMahan of Swannanoa, Doris Dodd of Woodfin, Donna Banks of Deland, FL and Kathy Bennett of Swannanoa; and his half-siblings, Tina Young of Marion and Tony Banks of Winston-Salem.
