He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Strickland and Mary Gibbs Strickland; his siblings, Sewell Strickland, Velsie Radford and Hazel Rhymer; and his granddaughter Catherine Brantley.
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Williams Strickland; his daughters, Sherry Love (Johnny), Pat Massey (Foster), Wanda Kiser (Steve) and Carolyn Glovier; and his siblings, John Strickland (Janet) and Nancy Rhymer. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mountain Ridge Wellness Center, Activities Department, 611 Old US Hwy 70 E, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
