She was predeceased by: her parents, H. B. Hargrove and Grace Jane Hester of Bladenboro; and her siblings, Joan Mishue, Charles Hargrove, Doris Gulledge, Frances H. Penny and Shelby H. Storms.
She is survived by: her children, Britton Simmons of Orlando, Fla. and Austen McGough (John) of Surf City; her grandchildren, Kylie, Caleb, Christopher and Cameron McGough; her sisters, Carol Hester of Tabor City and Charlene Fulk of Cornelius; and her pet Sofie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Gathering Church (304 Wilmington Ave, Surf City, NC 28445). Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bladen Gaskins Funeral Home & Cremation Services (3131 M. L. K. Dr, Elizabethtown, NC 28337). A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Pine Crest Cemetery.
