He was predeceased by: his parents, Lancin B. Phelps and Dola Hewett Phelps; and his brother Lenare Phelps. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Benton Phelps; and his children, Legrand Phelps (Cheryl) of Supply, NC, Donna Gore (Pee-Wee) of Ash, NC and Wendy Phelps of Supply, NC. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
