He was predeceased by: his parents, Romney Lee and Mable Frances George Carson; and his son Ritchie Carson. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Winans Carson; his son Austin Carson; his granddaughter Katie Carson; his pets, Baby and Lexi; his children, Donna Kesterson (Greg) of Concord, NC, Billy Winans of Wilmington, NC, Danny Winans (Sierra) of Portland, OR and Nick Edwards (Betsy) of Westfield, NC; his siblings, Betty Hutson of Pilot Mountain, NC, Kay Chamblin (Ronnie) of Pilot Mountain, NC, Rita Willard (Wayne) of Mount Airy, NC, Annette Carson of Mount Airy, NC and Jimmy Carson (Carol) of Ararat, NC; his mother-in-law Evelyn Reillo (late Gregory) of Sunset Beach, NC; and his grandchildren, Ben Kesterson (Jake) of Charlotte, NC, Hailee Hargett (Michael) of Charlotte, NC, Ben Carson (Jaime) of Bolivia, NC, Josh Carson of Leland, NC, Moriah Cockerham of Concord, NC, Jacob Carson of Bolivia, NC, Morgan Cockerham of Concord, NC, Alyssa Carson of Leland, NC and Sasha Carson of Leland, NC. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
