He is survived by: his wife Carol Mary Gerdes Welch; his children, Kurt Welch of Raleigh, NC, Kevin Welch of Charlotte, NC and Michele Barczynski of Sunset Beach, NC; his sister Eileen Walsh of Albuquerque, NM; his grandchildren, Kimberly, Kristopher Welch, Kelly Joyce, Michelle, Bethany and Meghan Wenner; his great grandchildren, Milo, Murphy Joyce and Braxton Wintermote; and his granddaughter Luciana Wenner-Severson.
A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Brendan Catholic Church (5101 Ocean Hwy W, Shallotte, NC 28470). The inurnment will be held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A reception will be held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 10:45 AM at the same location.
