He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles P. Rines, Sr. and Elsie Rines (Londo); his former wife Priscilla Rines (Cotton); and his brothers, Charles, Robert and Tenny.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn; his children, Nadine Coots of Martha's Vineyard, MA, Keith Rines, Kelley Rines (Roger Brown) of Tabor City, NC, Kevin Caldwell of West Palm and Lisa Caldwell (Daniel Lank) of Barnstead, NH; his sister Virginia Partridge of Rochester, NH.; his grandchildren, Kaeleigh Coots, Rachel Fisher, Cameron Plummer-Rines, David Szelog, William Cash, Gabby Caldwell, Danielle Messier, Katelyn Lank and Hunter Lank; and his great grandchild Axllyn Isaac.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Veterans Administration.
