She was predeceased by: her parents, Baxter Lee Austin and Hessie Hill Austin; and her husband Leon Newell. She is survived by: her son Kenny Newell (Susan) of Sunset Beach; her granddaughter Bailey McGalliard (Evan) of Roebuck, SC; and her great grandchildren, Sage and Tilly McGalliard. She is also survived by eight siblings.
