He is survived by : his children, Labradors Elke, Katie, Cassie and Maggie; his wife Ruth Fullerton Apalinski (Junior Prom); his children, Edward Joseph Apalinski, Jr. (Jennifer Noblejas) and Cynthia Ruth Apalinski; his cousin Paul Ann Jaskula; and his goddaughters, Lori Baykowski Menzo, Jennifer Fullerton, Lab and Maggie. He is also survived by many other cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

“Dear Ruth and Family: I learned of Ed's passing this week. I am sorry for your loss. Too many memories to share re our memorable 8th Ward sporting activities including 4-on-4 baseball and stickball with Spaulding hi-bouncers and cut-down broomsticks against the backdoor of the 8th ward park club house. Ed was hard to hit and you didn't want to get tattoed with his fastball. He surely loved baseball! John Chmiel”
