It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Amelia Ann Stroop Jones of Sunset Beach, North Carolina, born in Rome, Georgia, who passed away on March 17, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert C. Stroop and Elizabeth T. Garrard Stroop; and her son Col. Joel Fred Jones. She is survived by : her children, William H. Jones, Jr. (Marianne) of Columbia and Marie Ann Danford (Derek) of Shallotte. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
