With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Odessa Eason of Sunbury, North Carolina, born in Gates, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 30, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Odessa is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Odessa's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Georgetta Eure Gibson and Parrish Eugene Gibson; her husband George L. Eason; and her siblings, Georgia Gatling, Stephen Gibson, Eugene Gibson and James Knight, Sr..

She is survived by: her daughter Carrie Gibson of Sunbury, NC; her adoptive son Carroll Eason; and her granddaughter Darletha M. Griffin of Sunbury, NC.. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
