He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Smith and Garnett Smith; and his brother Gary Smith. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Walker Smith; his daughters, Debra S. Stafford (William), Stephanie S. Sink (Jason) and Leslie P. Smith; and his grandchildren, Heather H. Kindle, Aaron T. Hawks, Seth I. Bartenfield and Aziam S. Gilchrist. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
