He was predeceased by: his parent Ned Dillard; and his daughter Margie Marie Dillard. He is survived by: his parent Bessie Isley Dillard; his wife Mary Bowman Dillard; his children, James Dillard, Jr. (Nancy) of Stokesdale and Jo Dillard of Summerfield; his grandchildren, Sandra Kay Dillard, Allen Priddy, Ashley Sweatt and Tiffany Creed; and his great grandchildren, Sam Hopkins and Jake Hopkins.
