He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee and Nonnie Covington Smith; his son Dennis E. Smith Jr.; and his brother Ernest Smith. He is survived by: his children, Dawn Perry (Richard) of Reidsville, Daniel Smith of Stokesdale and Kristal Meadows of Summerfield; his siblings, Mary Lee Williams, Weldon, Dewey, Keith and Jerry Smith; his grandchildren, Christopher Perry (Brittany), Joseph Perry (Aja), Jessica Fischer (Kevin) and Kavon White; his great grandchildren, Cooper, Levi, Asher, Isla, Harper, Hudson, Max and Gianna; and also Debbie Smith of Reidsville.
