He is survived by: his wife Marie Carter Connell; his children, Christy Connell of Statesville and Brian Connell (Paula) of Statesville; his stepdaughter Tammy Crenshaus; his grandchildren, Kim Aponik of Mooresville, Christopher Aponik and Joshua Connell of Statesville; his great grandchild Mila Jordan of Mooresville; his stepgrandchildren, Daniel and Coty; and his close friends, David and Crystal Elder.
