He was predeceased by: his parents, Ramie and Mamie Mitchell, Sr.; his siblings, Louise Walsh of Statesville and Solon Mitchell; and his sister-in-law Jane Davis Mitchell of Hiddenite.
He is survived by: his wife Camilla Fulbright Mitchell; his daughters, Kathy Mitchell of Stony Point, Lou Ann Mitchell of Stony Point, Hannah Mitchell of Corona and Calif; his sisters, Becky Burke (Alvin) of Taylorsville and Hilda Hayes of Lexington; and his brother-in-law Marshall Fulbright (Julie) of Taylorsville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
