He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Ray Norton and Nola McAlpin Norton; and his siblings, Bob, Jerry, Dale Norton, Betty Thomas, Martha Cutlip and Doris Wilcox.

He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lorene Hoke Norton; his sons, Chris Norton of Stony Point and Kevin Ray Norton of Stony Point; his siblings, Barry Norton (Tammy) of Taylorsville and Nell Caldwell of Maryland; and his grandchildren, Toby Norton, Hunter Norton, Cale Troxtel, Olivia Norton, Leigha Norton and Dakota Norton.
