He was predeceased by: his wife Joann Fisher Norton; his sister Carolyn Walker; his brothers-in-law, Tracy Walker and Jerry Keever; and his son-in-law Bob Darcy.
He is survived by: his children, Howard Norton (Martha) of Stony Point, Alan Norton (Roxy) of Hiddenite, Jimmy Norton (Cathy) of Hiddenite, Trey Norton (Nicole) of Stony Point, Barbie Darcy of Hiddenite and Teresa N. Harrington (Rick) of Hiddenite; his siblings, Sidney Norton (Gail) of Gaffney, SC, Wayne (Joanne) of Taylors, SC. and Joyce Keever of Taylorsville; his sister-in-law Evelyn Issac; his aunt Aleta McAlister of Lincolnton; and his uncle Leonard McAlister of Lincolnton.
