He was predeceased by: his parents, William Charlesworth and Dorothy Mae DeLozier Charlesworth; his wife Beatrice Byrd Charlesworth; his daughter Donna Charlesworth; and his sisters, Margie Young Bauer and Joy Dechane.

He is survived by: his sons, Ed Charlesworth (Joyce) of Stony Point, Mark Charlesworth (Teresa) of Stony Point and Joe Charlesworth (Mary); and his brothers, Fred Charlesworth (Marilynn) and Jack Charlesworth (Jackie). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
