He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Quintin and Vanona Crouch Patterson; his wife Yvonne Ingram Patterson; his siblings, Quintin Patterson (Evelyn), Willard Patterson (Julia), Frederick Patterson (Anne), Kenneth Patterson and Francis Bunton (Atwell); and his half-sisters, Alma Goble and Juanita Smith (Ebb).

He is survived by: his sons, Tony Patterson (Janet) and Tracy Patterson (Anita); and his sister-in-law Joyce Patterson.
