She was predeceased by: her parents, William Shotwell Patterson and Bertha Stevenson Patterson; her husband Dewey Franklin Cockrell; her siblings, Parks, Brown, Bill, John Patterson, Mary Lois Bounds, Sara Katherine Ducker and Carter Lyles; and her children-in-law, James Rumbold Jr., Kenneth White and Wanda Cockrell.
She is survived by: her children, Willie Cockrell (Debi) of Hiddenite, Charlie Cockrell of Hillsbourgh, Steve Cockrell (Pat) of Stony Point, Carroll Cockrell (Janice) of Stony Point, Mimi White of Taylorsville and Peggy Rumbold of Stony Point. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, and twenty four great grandchildren.
