It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Hilda Dagenhart Payne of Stony Point, North Carolina, who passed away on January 3, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Wesley Dagenhart and Mary Lou Elliott Dagenhart; her husband Charlie Ray Payne, Jr.; her siblings, Bruce Dagenhart, Dora Lee Dagenhart Duncan, Nellie Dagenhart Grant and Carolyn Dagenhart Robertson; and her grandson Christopher Brian Payne.
She is survived by: her children, Curtis Payne (Sandy) of Stony Point, Louis Payne (Angie) of Stony Point, Karen Moose (Ray) of Catawba and Tina Eaton (Wilkesboro); her siblings, Allen "Vaughn" Dagenhart (Frances) of Waynesboro, VA and Maxine Dagenhart Stone (Reggie) of Stony Point; and her grandchildren, Amy Lamberth, Erek Mayhew, Derek Mayhew, Stephanie Sherrill, Kelley Pearson, Shelley White, Brandon Hefner, Travis Payne, Kayla Pitsenbarger, Courtney Payne, Elliott Eaton, Zachary Eaton and Nathanael Eaton. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19 there will be no formal visitation.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Valley Rehabilitation Center at 581 NC 16, Taylorsville, NC 28681.
