He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Hicks Carson and Zora Ferguson Carson; his wife Cleda Faye Dagenhart Carson; his daughter Cynthia Carson Tibbits; and his brother Luther Carson.

He is survived by: his sons, Jeffery Carson (Tonya) of Stony Point and Tim Carson (Jennifer); his brothers, Lester Carson and Gene Carson; his grandsons, Andrew Johnson and Patrick Carson; his stepgrandchildren, Alex Keppler, Chris Keppler and Katarina Corbin; and his great grandchild Cynthia Johnson.
