He was predeceased by: his wife Inez Helton Redmond; his siblings, Dean Redmond of Maryland and Brenda Redmond of Statesville; his niece Terry Bast of Florida; his stepchildren, Allen Pennell and Brenda Ford; and his stepgrandson Daniel Sterling.
He is survived by: his siblings, James Redmond (Kay) of Statesville and Joyce Lambert (Jeff) of Statesville; his daughter Barbara Redmond Gaskin (Joey) of Stony Point; and his stepdaughters, Davanna "Kay" Moore (Tim) of Stony Point, Marla Crane of Granite Falls and Mary Reavis of Stony Point. He is also survived by two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren, thirty-two step-great-grandchildren and six step-great-great grandchildren.
