He was predeceased by: his parents, William Grover and Mary Lee Oliver Whitaker. He is survived by: his wife Linda Leviner Whitaker; his children, Darryl Whitaker (Angela) of Winston Salem, Maria Treece of Oak Ridge and Mahia Hicks of Stokesdale; his sister Vonda Nelson (Melvin); his sister-in-law Dianna Hayes; and his grandchildren, Alex Whitaker, Brandon Hennis, Bailey Hennis, Hunter Hicks, Dillon Hicks and Landon Hicks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
