She was predeceased by: her parents, Cloyd M. Curtis and Jessie A. Curtis (Harold "Buster" Hartley); her siblings, Cloyd M. Curtis, Jr., Larry W. Curtis, Harry W. Curtis, Earl L. Curtis, Tommy F. Curtis, Dorothy N. Craig and Martha M. Craig; and her stepgrandson Steven R. Fortson.
She is survived by: her brothers, Jay H. Curtis of Hudson, NC and Clarence J. Curtis of Lenior, NC; her children, Brenda Hartley of Swannanoa, NC, Harold S. Hartley (Pam) of Forence, SC and Rita J. Fortson (BJ) of High Point, NC; her grandchildren, Shawn D. White of Pawleys Island, SC, Chad S. Hartley of Hickory, NC, Crystal M. Kuhar of Lenoir, NC, Shannon R. Lewis of Fletcher, NC and Benjamin T. Vernon IV of Black Mountain, NC; her stepgrandchildren, Christopher Gaines (Allyson) of Morehead City, NC and Taylor W. Gaines of Chandler, AZ; her great grandchildren, Jacob M. Whitt, Grayson S. Whittt, Haywood V. Hartley, Genevieve J. Vernon, Benjamin C. Vernon and Madelyn G. Lewis; and her stepgreat-grandchildren, Brody Gaines, Davis Gaines and Easton Gaines.
