She was predeceased by: her parents, Leona Fields and Bill Fields; and her siblings, Roy Fields and Mae Cook. She is survived by: her pets, Nelson, Ernie and Daisy; her husband Jim Brewer; her son Dwayne Mendes (Allison) of Concord, N. C.; her granddaughters, Mariha and Makayla Mendes; her siblings, Darryl Fields (Lisa) of Climax and Bobbie Whitaker of McCleansville; and her sister-in-law Rhonda Fields. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
