He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas and Della D. Beatty Hawes. He is survived by: his wife Mary B. Hawes; his children, Della Hawes, Boyd K. Hawes Jr. (Jeri) of Bowie, MD, Robert C. Hawes (Jill) of Marietta, GA and Roger L. Hawes (Charlene) of Smithsburg, MD; and his sister Mae Collum of Frederick, MD.. He is also survived by Three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
