He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Vaughn Steele, Sr. and Sybil Martin Steele; and his parents-in-law, Bill and Mary Rominger. He is survived by: his wife Donna Rominger Steele; his daughter Claudia Vaughn Steele Ricketts (David); his stepchildren, Brian Royal (Megan Owens) and Mary Beth Lopez (Chris); his siblings, Mark Steele, Mike Burton and Marlene Smith (Fred); his nephew Jackson Smith (Kristen); and his grandchildren, Addisyn Hunsucker, Declan Hunsucker, Hazely Ricketts, Cole Hopkins, Ranferi Lopez, Jacob Lopez, Donavan Sackett, Chloe Owens and Skylar Owens.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home Stokes Chapel (1020 Hope Beasley Rd, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Steele Family Farm (1215 Steele Rd, Sandy Ridge, NC 27046).
