She was predeceased by: her parents, Dallas Carson and Pearl Eldridge Johnson; her grandson Russell Aaron Gardner; and her sisters, Evelyn Kirkland, Lucille Harden and Margaret Mills.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Byrd Gardner of Autryville and William Mitchell Byrd (Sylvia) of Fayetteville; her grandchildren, Bryan Mitchell Byrd, Lauren Ashley Bergamine and Victoria Carmen Pruitt; and her brother-in-law Jim Kirkland of Lumberton. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Stedman Baptist Church (7750 Clinton Rd, Stedman, NC 28391).
