He was predeceased by: his father Clyde Joseph Young; his parents-in-law, Rufus Heaggans Sr. and Catherine Heaggans; his brother-in-law Wilford Heaggans; his son-in-law Cameron Vines; his uncle Bob Skinner; his nephew Thurston Heaggans; and his niece Alexandria Heaggans.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Heaggans Young; his children, Nicholas Ramsey and Sherelle "Nikki" Ramsey Vines of Troutman; his sisters, Stephanie Young of Mooresville and Beatrice Lowe of Mooresville; his aunts and uncles, Joseph Heaggans (Dorothy) of Statesville, Robert Blackwell (Alfreda) of Troutman, John Smith (Vernie) of Cleveland, Leslie Middleton, Patricia Walls and Gloria Skinner; his godmother Ruth Ramsey Rankin; his siblings-in-law, Derrick Arnold of Cleveland, Leonard Heaggans (Mary) of Troutman, Beverly Heaggans of Statesville, Lesia Pearson (Curtis) of Statesville and Rufus Heaggans, Jr. (Annette) of Statesville; his grandchildren, Addison Vines of Troutman, Morgan Vines of Troutman, Natalie Ramsey of Lexington, SC, Calynn Heaggans of Mooresville and Carsyn Rose of Mooresville; his close friends, Carolyn Roberts (Jeff), Angela Williams, Kim Hancock, Nathan Johnson (Shelia), Willie Sturgis (Cynthia), Bruce Allison (Barbara), Kim Anderson (Kaye) and Clifford Homesley; and his godchildren, Brittany Stevenson and Sydney Williams. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
