He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Johnson and Florence Bennett Johnson; his siblings, Ronald Johnson, Wilfred Johnson and Cynthia Winebarger; and his nephews, John Paul Smith and Anthony Rogers.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Johnson; his children, Robert Johnson (Traci) and DeOna Sands; his grandchildren, Matthew, Maekenzie Sands, Madeleine, Jacqueline and Jake Johnson; and his siblings, Donald Johnson, Peggy Parris (Phillip), Florence Ann Rogers, Cathy Hartness (Denny), Paulette Johnson and Nancy Johnson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
