She was predeceased by: her parents, Oscar Deal and Gertrude Deal; her spouse J. C. Somers (Buddy); her children, Sandra Somers Blackwelder and Jerry Keith Somers; and her siblings, Henry Deal, Lois Belle Deal, John Deal, Paul Deal, Ruth Talbert, JC Deal, Coite Deal, Louise Norton and Wade Deal.
She is survived by: her children, Steve Somers (Donna) and Jolene McIntyre; her son-in-law Jerry Blackwelder; her stepson Phillip Keever (Helen); and her grandchildren, Terry Somers, Ricky Somers, Stephanie Barnard (Terry), Elizabeth Azmi, Maribeth Warren (Stacy), Adrienne Lankford (Bobby), Jessica McIntyre and Daniel McIntyre. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Monticello Methodist Church (308 Island Ford Rd, Statesville, NC 28625). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
