It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sylvia Young of Statesville, North Carolina, who passed away on April 15, 2024, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Sr. Heaggans and Catherine Miller Heaggans; her husband Zollie Young; her brother Wilford Heaggans, Sr.; her niece Alexandria Heaggans; her nephew Thurston Heaggans; and her close friend Angela Wallace Williams.
She is survived by: her children, Shere'lle "Nikki" Vines and Nicholas Ramsey; her grandchildren, Addison Vines, Morgan Vines, Natalie Ramsey, Calynn Heaggans and Carsyn Rose; her siblings, Derrick Arnold, Leonard Heaggans (Mary), Beverly Heaggans, Lesia Pearson (Curtis) and Rufus Jr. Heaggans (Annette); her nephews, Jeremy Heaggans (Anna), Rodney Wilson, Detrick Heaggans, Wilford Heaggans, Jr. (Kisha), Thurmond Heaggans (Kishina), David Jones (Frances) and Rahim Pearson; her niece Kimberly Wood (Mason); her aunts and uncles, Joseph Heaggans (Dorothy), George Stevenson, Patricia Walls, Alfredia Blackwell (Bob), Vernie Smith (John) and Melzetta Heaggans; her godchildren, Brittany Stevenson and Sydney Williams; her siblings-in-law, Stephanie Young, Beatrice Lowe, Kathy Miller (Gerald) and Clarence Ramsey; and her cousins, Rita Taggert, Sherra Mills, Shirley Black, Karen Ellis, Kaye Anderson, Belinda Henry, Judith McKee, Diane Mayfield, Elaine Grant, Donna Brown, Elecia Dobbins, Carolyn Roberts, Rita Heaggans, Tammy Kesler, Gwen Morrison, Charlette Harrill and Emily Heaggans.
