He was predeceased by: his parents, Simeon Humes Sr. and Hattie Helen Humes; and his wife Maggie Priscilla Humes (Waddell) of Statesville, NC.. He is survived by: his children, Regina (Aubrey), Teresa, Simeon, Yvonne (Terry), Jonathan (Iona), Helena and Andre (Marie); and his sisters, Isabel Humes and Mazie Storr (George) of Miami, Florida. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren, with one grandchild and great grandchild.
