She was predeceased by: her parents, Jonah Alexander Wilson and Maude Campbell Wilson; her son Steven Compton; and her siblings, Lonnie Wilson, Jimmy Wilson, James Wilson, Louise "Sissy" Cook and Shirley "Tootsie" Sharpe.
She is survived by: her husband Joe Compton; her son Tony Compton (Vickie); her granddaughters, Caroline Goodson (Chad) and Lindsey Cheek (Cameron); her great grandchildren, Sadie Goodson and Stella Cheek; her friends, Chad and Crystal Eades; and her sister-in-law Dottie Wilson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mountain Road Baptist Church (132 Compton Park Rd, Statesville, NC 28677). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 7th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
