She was predeceased by: her grandfathers, George Smith and Allen Miller; and her great-grandparents, Hazel Smith and Edith Bond. She is survived by: her son Gunner; her mother Cassie Smith Akers (Jeff); her sisters, Saundra Singleton (Alex) and Sidney Bumgarner; her grandmother Saundra Miller; and her nieces, Sailor and Clarke. She is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a fund set up to support Shelbie's son, Gunner's, future needs.
