She is survived by: her son Thomas Lee Smithey of Statesville; her grandsons, Mark Smithey (Amy) of Level Cross and Eric Smithey (Agnes) of Cypress, TX; her great grandchildren, Tessa and Julian Smithey; and her sister Lillie Mae Pennell of Hiddenite.
