With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sarah G. Daye of Statesville, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 13, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Chambers and Sena Simmons; her spouse Freddie Lee Daye Sr.; her son Mark Daye; her siblings, Joseph Chambers, Annie White, Minnie Sharpe, Essie Nichols and Ella Chambers Hall; her grandchildren, Derryck Turner, Tiesha Daye, Dedrick Rogers, Shannon Lackey, Lee Williams and Nakia Daye; and her great grandchildren, Desmond Hayes and Jabarionna Daye.
She is survived by: her children, Chanelle Foster (Warren), Kenneth Daye (Renae), Deborah Daye, Phyllis Daye (Charlotte), Wanda Daye, Tina Daye, Jamel Mapp, Freddie Lee Daye Jr. and Jahmean Glover; her grandchildren, Aletha Hyde (Dwayne), Nakia Allison, Antonio Allison Jr., Karter Foster, Warren Foster Jr., Jabar Daye, Josette Daye, Alicia Daye, Renee Winbush, Tony Young, Chanda Daye (Morrison), Amanda Daye, Tawanda Daye, Anthony Daye, Zina Daye, Gladys Daye, Lamieka Daye, Tanisha Daye, Nina Daye, Antwan Daye, Martieka Daye, Jamelia Mapp, Shaquan Summers, Jamel Mapp Jr., Jaquan Mapp, Chasity Daye, Wanda Daye, Sara Daye, Freddie Lee Daye III, Jaquan Daye, Shaneetra Daye, Shakim Daye, Deborah Daye, Shaleecia Daye, Dashawn Daye, Fredrick Rogers, Xavion Daye, Brittany Daye, Mariah Daye, Alfred Allison, Larajah Parks, Shakur Daye, Desiree Daye, Sasha White, Corey Patterson and Christopher Keaton; and her siblings, Virginia Campbell (Statesville) and Larry Chambers of New York. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Greater Mt. Olive Church (2509 E Greenbriar Rd, Statesville, NC 28625). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at the Belmont Cemetery (2000 E Greenbriar Rd, Statesville, NC 28625).
