With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Peggy Sykes of Statesville, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 1, 2025 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Fulton Shoemaker and Margaret Jerusha Wilson Shoemaker; her husband William Joseph Alfred Sykes; and her grandson Rob Hudgins, III. She is survived by: her children, Margaret Adams (Charley) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Joe Sykes (Sharon) of Troutman and Vicki Hudgins (Robert) of Statesville; her grandson Matthew Adams; her stepgrandchildren, Darlene Jones (Todd) and Lee Adams (Jamie); her granddaughter Lisa Sykes (Randy); and her great grandchildren, Nicholas Shumake (Kimi), Caylyn Sykes, Gavin Sykes and Rachel Hudgins.
