He was predeceased by: his parents, Moody White and Lucy Templeton White; his wife Betty Wilson; his brother Sidney White; and his grandchild Chase Bennett.
He is survived by: his daughters, Beth Carter (Daryl) of Oak Island, NC, Tempe Moore (Steve), Jane MacKinnon of Houston, TX and Laura Harmon (Shannon) of Statesville; the mother of his children Elizabeth Tuttle Newman; his grandchildren, Robby Carter (Laura), Tyler Carter (Sara), Maridee Bunn (Marc), Aaron Bennett, Branden MacKinnon (Taylor) and Nathan Harmon; and his sisters, Judith White and Maryann Lackey. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
